Summary:
Herald moth spotted resting in grassland by day
The herald moth has 2 generations during the year, flying in the spring and autumn. We caught one in the heath trap in spring 2007, but this one was spotted lying in pasture near the river Inney,in St Clether, in the autumn. The larvae feed on willows and poplars and the moth overwinters as an adult in sheltered spots such as caves or outbuildings.
