Wild day out with Cornwall Wildlife Trust at Heligan

Cornwall Wildlife Trust is holding its annual celebration of wildlife at The Lost Gardens of Heligan, near St Austell, on Sunday 13th and Monday 14th May, from 10.30am until 4pm.

This two-day event offers a whole host of fun wildlife activities and the chance to learn all about Cornwall’s wildlife from the experts. Join Cornwall Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers for wildlife walks and demonstrations, and find out how the Trust protects Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places through interactive displays.

This is a landmark year for Cornwall Wildlife Trust as it is celebrating 50 years of protecting Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places. This year’s ‘Wildlife Celebration’ will help mark this special occasion and is sure to be the best yet with more activities and displays than ever before.

Jasmin Appleby, Deputy Marketing and Fundraising Manager for Cornwall Wildlife Trust says, “Our Wildlife Celebration event is our wonderful annual get together and in our 50th Anniversary year will be extra special. There’s plenty for everyone to enjoy, from meeting some wonderful Cornish wildlife including owls, bats and harvest mice to exploring the Garden’s wildlife through nature walks, pond dipping and checking bird boxes for chicks.”  She continues, “Our Wildlife Celebration is not only a chance for us to showcase our nature conservation work on land and in our seas, but it is also a great opportunity to encourage others to get involved. We simply couldn’t do the work we do without our hundreds of dedicated volunteers. So come along and find out how you can help Cornwall’s wildlife!”

“We are also very happy to be holding the event in partnership with one of our key Business Supporters, The Lost Gardens of Heligan. They have generously provided free entry fliers for readers of the Trust’s magazine, Wild Cornwall and Wild Scilly – so look out for the gold flier in the spring issue (no. 117). The Gardens are a beautiful setting for a spring day out and we look forward to welcoming everyone to this fantastic wild event!” For full details, please see – www.cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk/news/News_pages/Wild_day_out_with_Cornwall_Wildlife_Trust_at_The_Lost_Gardens_of_Heligan  Schedule of free walks and activities:
