Lovely day today in the garden (Wednesday 11th) with first sightings of bees and butterflies at long last!
Walked in the sun this morning at Armstrong’s Wood while Tony checked the big bat boxes. Heard a Tawny Owl and saw our first Marsh Tit for a couple of years. A ouple of Peacocks basking, and 2 or 3 Commas, and several male Brimstones dashing along between the river and the leat. First Ground Ivy in flower and the celandines, primroses and wood anemones were a picture. So far there are 3 Early Purple Orchid plants coming up on the right as you go from the car parking to the first gate. Careful, as they are perilously close to the edge of the path!
