Trying to catch up now on event reports before the end of May. Here is the first.Beetle Day in Stara Woods Apr 2019
Just had a message from a neighbour to report a cuckoo and adders up at Hawks Tor. Need to note the adders!
Ran the trap here in Middlewood on April 29th. Calm night but temperature dropped to 6C. Should I be content with 67 moths from 16 species (28 of which were Hebrew Characters…)? The star of the night was a Great Prominent which posed elegantly the next morning on the slate.
Hedgehogs are definitely on the move. First seen in Rezare on April 2nd., reports now coming in from Trekenner and North Hill. Speckled Wood butterflies seen in Rezare on Tuesday and in Middlewood today plus lots of Anthophora plumipes, the Hairy-footed Flower Bee.
