The first week of May is Hedgehog Awareness week. This year Cornwall Wildlife Trust & Cornwall Mammal Group started a new survey using footprint tunnels to survey rural areas away from human habitation. The study will be repeated for five years.

Beetle Day in Stara Woods Apr 2019
Just had a message from a neighbour to report a cuckoo and adders up at Hawks Tor. Need to note the adders!
Ran the trap here in Middlewood on April 29th. Calm night but temperature dropped to 6C. Should I be content with 67 moths from 16 species (28 of which were Hebrew Characters…)?
The star of the
night was a Great Prominent wh ich posed elegantly the next morning on the slate.

Hedgehogs are definitely on the move. First seen in Rezare on April 2nd., reports now coming in from Trekenner and North Hill.
