Inspecting bat roosts

These visits to this beautiful wood in May & October each year serve to mark the changing seasons. This is a Cornwall Wildlife Trust reserve but not open to all so we are invited to join the bat group as they check the bat boxes and roosts. Photo Tony A) There are also dormouse nest boxes but the dormice usually prove to be as elusive as ever and we rarely see one. Ample opportunities to hunt for nibbled hazel nuts.

Steep in places with uneven ground so walking boots/poles recommended.

We finish in LAPWG style with hot drinks and homemade cake at about 4pm.
