Location:

Drive over the bridge from east to west Looe and turn off the Polperro Road (A387) down into the Millpool pay and display car park. Gather up at the top end that leads to the woods. Map ref: SX250538. Use the link below to find a map of the woods.

An autumn walk through a very special woodland local nature reserve alongside the West Looe River. One of the largest areas of western oak woodland in Cornwall, it was recorded as far back as the 1600’s, so truly ‘ancient’. A home to many birds and other wildlife especially along the river, this woodland, owned by Cornwall Council, is managed by a volunteer group of Friends. Look up their website to find out more: http://friendsofkilminorthwoods.co.uk/

We will leave at 10am and plan to return by about 1pm. It would be wise to bring a drink and a snack with you. And a packed lunch or you could eat out in the town. Derek & Christine Spooner hope to meet us so we will be in the company of the best guides possible! Please note that if the weather forecast is bad, we will cancel. Walking boots ideal but bring wellies just in case the lower paths are very wet. Please check this website or contact us if in doubt.
